4. Information Shared With Others

Tradelation is a transparency-first platform. The following sharing of information is intentional, disclosed at signup, and constitutes core functionality of the Service:

4.1 Public Trader Profiles

  • Trader profiles and performance records — including trade history, Drawdown Journal entries, win rate, Sharpe ratio, and other metrics — are publicly visible by design.
  • This public visibility is the fundamental purpose of the Service. Users acknowledge and consent to this at the time of account creation.
  • Traders who do not wish for their records to be public should not create a Tradelation account.

4.2 Firm Access

  • Finance firms with approved accounts may view trader profiles and performance records.
  • Firms may contact traders through the platform's messaging system.

4.3 Third-Party Service Providers

  • We share data with service providers who assist in operating the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), and PostHog (analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
  • We may share data with providers of market data and financial information services solely to power platform features.

4.4 Legal Requirements

  • We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tradelation, our users, or the public.

4.5 What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not share personal data with advertisers for targeted advertising.

5. Data Retention

Trade records, Drawdown Journal entries, and performance data are retained indefinitely. This is intentional and constitutes a core feature of the Service: records are designed to be permanent and immutable to preserve the integrity of the verified trading record.

Users are informed of this policy at account creation and must acknowledge it before submitting their first trade.

Account profile information (name, email, username, biography) is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period thereafter as required by law or legitimate business purposes.

You may request deletion of your account. Upon deletion, your profile will be removed from public view. However, anonymized or aggregated trade data derived from your records may be retained for platform integrity and analytics purposes.

Payment records for firm accounts are retained as required by applicable law and accounting standards.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our security measures include:

  • Industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Authentication and access controls through Supabase, which maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance
  • Row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
  • Regular review of security practices and infrastructure
  • No storage of payment card data — payment processing is delegated entirely to Stripe

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate account information through your account settings.
  • Account Deletion: You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at hello@tradelation.com.
  • Data Portability: You may request an export of your personal data in a machine-readable format.
  • Opt-Out: You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us directly.

Important: Trade records, Drawdown Journal entries, and associated performance metrics cannot be deleted, edited, or altered. This limitation is fundamental to the integrity of the verified record and is disclosed at signup. By submitting a trade, you acknowledge and consent to the permanent, immutable nature of that record.

To exercise any of the rights above, please contact us at hello@tradelation.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.
